Batman and The Bats

This is another Batman mug, but one with the new style.  The mug is all black, with the very recognizable Batman Logo on both the left and right side of the mug. Also interesting is that the insides of the mug is light blue (where most of this type are white!) 

When hot liquid is added to to the mug, the entire mug clears to reveal Batman in comic form along with his many, many bats!  The comic covers the entire 3 sides in a wrap around design. The Batman logos remain in the center of both sides of the mug. Unlike many mugs of this new style, the handles do not change.  

This mug comes with a full color retail box! A very nice addition when finding new mugs!

COLORADO Mountains

Just in time for Labor Day, it's a great visit to my favorite place: Colorado.  This mug is a great 'tourist' purchase, which features a totally black mug on all three sides.  

When hot liquid is added to the mug, the entire mug clears to reveal a picture postcard shot of the great Rocky Mountains!  The design is a full wrap around, and the color change even affects the handle.  

This mug also has a great point of purchase label, which shows the design and some advertising stating how the mug changes.

Harry Potter - Marauder's Map

This mug is highly sought after by more than just Magic Mug collectors. It is from the Harry Potter book and movie series.  Above you can see the right side of the mug has the well known phrase "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" in stylized design.  The Left side of the mug features the main emblem from the Marauder's Map.  Across from the handle is another emblem with the words "Itinerarium Maraudentium" (Fictional Latin for Marauder's Map) along with "Messers Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot & Prongs are proud to present"

When Hot liquid is added, the entire mug clears to reveal footprints in paths all over the mug. All of the design work is more clearly seen, too. 

This is a brand new mug, and even came in its own full color box.

Don't Be A C*ntasaurous

This week's mug is rather adult in nature, so if adult words and phrases insult you, please refrain from viewing this week's post.  Continuing to read this post is your passive agreement to accept these and that you are adult enough not to be insulted by such things.

Adult children can be a wonderful way to stay young.  My girls sent me this mug "just because" and I considered it one of my favorites almost immediately,  As you can see, there is a cute cartoon dinosaur on both the left and right side of the mug

When hot liquid is added to the mug, the design reveals a phrase beside the Dinosaur in a cute cartoon font. It says: "Don't Be A Cuntasaurous"  A phrase we all should live by. 

This is, of course, a new mug, in terrific condition.  It even came in it's own plain blue box appropriately labeled "Funny Ceramic Mug."  

I even had coffee with it one morning, which places it in a special group.

Who Wants to Be A Millionaire - Employee Question

This week's mug is a retail mug featuring Regis Philbin as host of the "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" game show.  On the right side of the mug is the show's logo with Regis Philbin holding a fan of money.  On the left side of the mug is a set of question and answers in the style of the show:

THE AVERAGE EMPLOYEE IS
A: OVERWORKED            B: UNDERPAID
C: ON BREAK      D: ALL OF THE ABOVE

When hot liquid is added to the mug, the area between the question and the answers clears to reveal the phrase "FINAL ANSWER?" and the area below the answers clears to reveal the correct answer, "D: All of the above" along with the phrase "YOU GOT IT!"

The mug is near new, and in terrific condition.  Color change is also near perfect.  A great addition.

Batman Live! World Arena Tour

This week's mug is from the live production "BATMAN LIVE."  Batman Live was a touring stage show, including theatrical, circus and stage-magic elements, that focuses on the DC Comics superhero Batman. It debuted in North America in the Summer of 2012 and closed in December of 2012.  These mugs were sold at all showings. 

Originally, the mug was all black and when hot liquid was added, the hidden design would become visible.  The hidden design is a full wrap around drawing that shows the DC cartoon characters, Catwoman and Joker on the right side of the mug, with Harley Quinn and Robin, the boy wonder, on the left side of the mug.  Center across from the handle, is the Caped Crusader himself, and they are all framed with the iconic Bat Signal.  The words BATMAN LIVE, World Arena Tour, along with the legal stuff in small print. 

The mug has been damaged either by UV or Microwave use.  The design is nice, and I'm sure it's full color, but the overlay makes it both non-changing and faintly white.  Othewise the mug is in good shape, and I only picked it up (for 25¢ US) because it is a magic mug and it is always nice to show how NOT to treat your magic mugs.

E.T. The Extraterrestial

This week's mug is a very special thrift store find! The mug was issued back in 1982 to promote the movie "E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial" This is a wrap around design with two different reveals. The mug shows E.T. on the right side of the mug, and the movie logo "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" in white on the front. The left side of the mug appears to be blank.

When hot liquid is added to the mug, the right side of the mug shows E.T. with his 'heart light' glowing, and the left side of the mug reveals the pot of flowers that grew when E.T was revived. 

As I say, it's a wonderful find, from the era when Magic Mugs were first used.  The color change is excellent and the mug is in great condition!
