NetLink / Superstar Network

This is a two sided mug for the Netlink Superstar Network.  I'm familiar with Netlink, but not Superstar, but they are on two sides of the same mug, so I'm going to assume they are related.  Both sides of the mug show the tag line "We're Here for You!" and a blank TV. 

When hot liquid is poured in, the two TVs clear to show the two logos for Netlink and Superstar.  

I am also unsure as to the reason for the mug.  It's a corporate freebie, I'm fairly sure, perhaps (guessing) to note the merger of the two companies.  Eitehr way, it's in great shape and the thermochromic change is excellent.

Sams Town Tunica MS

This magic mug is from Sam's Town - Tunica which is a casino and hotel located in the Vegas of the South, Tunica, Mississippi.  I expect that this mug was a give-away for special guests or possibly even big winners. This mug has a 3 sided design, which, when cool, shows an oddly shaped dark swath running around the mug.  

When hot liquids are added, the oddly shaped swatch clears to show "Just south of Memphis" below the main logo and cartoon coins or chips scattered around to the back of the mug. On the back is a cartoon of a slot machine all lit up.  Across the center is a winning play of 7-7-7 and Sam's Town written on its face.

Sun And Moon by Bob Mackie

This is a great 2 sided retail purchased mug that I found in a thrift store. Not advertising, this mug shows a beautiful moon face on both sides of the mug, on a black background, the design by renowned designer Bob Mackie. His signature is on the front of the mug.  

When hot liquid is added, the mug shows teh even more beautiful sun face below.

Some Things are Better Rich

This mug stands alone as the example that proves the rule.  It is one of the VERY few mugs that does not have straight sides.  The basic shape is like a big 'V', with angled sides rather than perpendicular sides.  The words "Coffee, chocolate, men..." are visible above a solid circle.

 

When hot liquid is added, the circle clears to show a big swirl with the phrase: "Some things are just better when they're rich."

Main Street Highland North Carolina

This mug was a retail mug available in Highland North Caroline, ostensibly for the tourist trade. The mug shows the 'Oak Square' at night, with large stars overhead.  When heated, the design shows the trees and mountains amid a glorious sunrise.

Though actually a two sided design, this mug's two sides spread out enough to meet at the side, thus making this mug fall into the 3 sided category. 

This mug also is mostly unresponsive probalby due to microwave use.  I can't really fault anyone for using a fun big mug and as always, mugs of any condition are welcome in this collection.
