What Happens At The Seder

This month's mug is a true gem.  It was a gift, as so many are, and holds a special place because of that, as well as the subject.  The mug is white with a dark design that wraps around the mug. On the right are the words "What happens at the Seder..." and on the front is a bottle of wine. On he left is a happy looking granny with a glass of wine.  

 When hot liquid is added to the mug, the entire surface of the mug clears and on the right, the phrase "What happens at the Seder..." is now completed with "stays at the Seder!" And at the bottom a spilled glass of wine.   On the front, the wine bottle now shows the label with "Happy Passover" and the sweet granny on the left side is quite happy (read: tipsy.)

For many years my mother would attend Seders at a friend's house and would always come home quite happy and very, very tipsy!  She is no longer with us, but this mug now holds a special place in my collection in her memory. 

The mug is new, and the color change is terrific.

The Office Stapler

This month's mug is from the TV Show "The Office" (US).  On the right side of the mug is the logo from the show, with '©Universal Studios LLC All Rights Reserved' under it. On the left side of the mug is a standard office stapler.  Fans of the show will probably guess where this is going.  

When hot liquid is added to the mug, the area around the stapler clears to reveal that the stapler is actually molded into a Jello ring mold!  This comes from a well known scene in the show where Jim put Dwight's stapler into Jello.   

This is a brand new mug and in fantastic condition. Color change is fast and complete. The mug even comes in its own full color folder/box.

Birthday Candles

 

This month's mug is a retail mug I found in a thrift shop.  It depicts a birthday cake in a wrap around design with 14 birthday candles stuck in the icing.  Only 5 of the candles are lit.  

When hot liquid is added to the mug, the area above the 9 unlit candles clears to show all the candles lit.  I've yet to figure out why there are 5 lit and 9 unlit, but the mug is in fantastic condition, like near new and the color change is nice and fast.

Inigo Montoya - You Drank My Coffee

This month's mug is inspired by the movie "The Princess Bride" and is one of the newer types of Magic Mug with a full coating of thermochromic ink. When cold, the mug is fully black on all three sides

 When hot liquid is added, the mug clears to reveal a 'name tag' like one might wear to a party or conference.  At the top of the tag is "Hello my name is" and below is the phrase "Inigo Montoya You drank my coffee. Prepare to die."  This is a reference to the line from the movie, uttered by Mandy Patinkin, "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father. Prepare to die." 

The mug is brand new. The color change is full and quick, as you can see, even parts of the handle are affected by the color change.
