CPM Media

This is one of those odd mugs that I can't seem to research.  It's a beautiful mug with a colorful square puzzle on the left side of the mug.  The rest of the mug is blank.  

When hot liquid is added to the mug, one of  the dark purple puzzle pieces in the upper left corner of the puzzle clears to show the phrase "CPM KNOWS MEDIA."  I cannot find any CPM Media (other than the definition of CPM as "cost per million.")  I can only guess that CPM Media was a company that dealt in advertising of some sort and gave this mug to their customers.  

The colors are bright and the color change is complete, making this a great mug in the collection.

Male Model - Adults Only

This is another of those 'adults only' mugs. It was found for me by my brother and when it arrived it included a Female version, but thanks to the postal handling, the female mug didn't make it.  As you can see the male model above is wearing a pair of dark shorts which he seems to be slipping out of.  There is only the pic, no advertising, and nothing on the reverse side. 

Add in hot liquid and the shorts disappear.  What is left is more than just nudity and so I'm pixelating the photo and you can use your imagination.  Anyone wanting to see the non-pixelated version can email me.XXX

I shold also point out that this mug was a gift, along with a female model mug.  Unfortunately, the female model mug was destroyed in shipment.

EXCHANGER & REFINERY SERVICES LTD

This mug is from Edmonton Exchanger & Refinery Services LTD and is my first and only mug from a Canadian company!  On the left side of the mug is the name of the company in plane letters with the phone number  below.  

On the right side of the mug is a dark elongated shaped called a "stadium."  By it's simplistic design, I'm putting this at one of the oldest mugs in the collection.  

When hot liquid is added, the shape clears to show the company logo along with the same information that is on the other side: Name and phone, but with the addition of an address.  This is the type of mug given out to prospective and current customers.

Smiths Industries - Medical Systems

Smith's Medical was founded in 1851, changing it's name to Smiths Industries in 1965.  This mug was created as an advertising piece sometime around the 1980s. On the left side of the mug is the logo "SIMS" and the name of the company: Smiths Industries Medical Systems. 

On the right side of the mug is the phrase "There's MAGIC" above a drawing of a ventilator and bag.  The bag is covered  by a dark area (though not as dark due to it's age and use.) 

When hot liquid is added, teh dark area clears finishing the phrase "there's MAGIC in our RESPONSE."  The mug is in great shape, and the color change near complete.

All American Parts

This week's mug comes from All American Parts Distributors. On the right side of the mug is the name of the company along with it's toll free 800 number.  

On the left side of the mug is a typical picture you might find in an auto parts store or mechanic's garage.  The standard 'scantily clad lady,' in this case covered by strategic dark draped clothing.  

When hot liquid is added, the dark areas clear to reveal that the lady is not just scantily clad, but now nearly naked, showing panties and garters and, well, herself.  Now, in keeping with the thought that this should be considered a G-Rated blog, I have carefully pixelated the nakedness.  If you would like to see the nakedness, you can click the following link, (and by clicking, you attest that you are of age in your area to view said nakedness...'nuff said.) Click Here

F-14 Tomcat - ANYTIME, BABY ..!

This is one of a long line of mugs from the US Government sold at military bases.  Most I've found only on base at the PX and have been purchased and given to me as a gift. Others, such as this one, were found used in thrift stores and yard sales.  This mug is for the F-14 Tomcat and on the right side is the F-14 Tomcat Logo, with the words "Anytme, Baby ..!" at the bottom. 

On the left side of the mug is a representational drawing of an F-14 Tomcat chasing some unknown foe across the skies.

When hot liquid is added to the mug, the wing of the target aircraft disappears and reappears behind a cloud of grey. The wing is shot off and in flames!  Another win for the US F-14 Tomcat!  

The mug is in great shape, and though used the color change is good.

Citgo Says GO!

This week's mug is from the Citgo Gas Company.  On the right side of the mug is the Citgo Logo and the caption "Says Go!"

On the left side of the mug and wrapping a full 180 degrees is a drawing of a dalmatian on a dark background.  Above this drawing is the phrase 'Super Premium Performance" and next to the drawing are the words "You Can Expect To Be..."

When  hot liquid is added, the dark square clears to reveal the end of the phrase "...Totally Blown Away!"  But, more than just the word reveal, you can see that the wind (of a passing performance auto?) has 'blown' the spots right off the dalmatian!  Spots on the dog disappear from the dog's coat along with the dark background and the spots are revealed blowing off in the wind!  A wonderful use of the Magic Ink in this design! 

This mug was given out as a corporate freebie to prospective customers and also sold in Citgo Marts.  Great colors and color change is terrific!
