NorthRop B-2

This weeks mug is from Northrop Corporation and was available after the introduction of the famous B-2, forever known as the "Stealth Bomber" due to its ability to not be seen on radar.  Northrup introduced these mugs at their manufacturing facilities which showed a drawing of a radar on one side (with the silhouette of the B-2 visible) and on the other side some clouds, one of which is dark.  (I note that the mug is old and the magic ink allows the plane to be visible, but when new, the cloud was completely dark.) Above the clouds is the name NORTHROP, and below is the caption B-2.

When hot liquid is added to the mug, the radar completely clears; the B-2 disappearing completely off the radar and on the opposite side, the plane becomes visible in the clouds.  Color change is about average, but I do love the two sided effect.

CHAMP Tires

This week's mug is from CHAMP tires.  On the left side of the mug is a large dark area in the shape of the USA with the CHAMP logo above it, and the phrase "We've Got You Covered!" across the bottom. 

When hot liquid is added, the USA clears to reveal the large 'road' of the Champ logo as it stretches across the country.  Also visible are several fun icons such as sunglasses, a For Sale sign and the figure of a man.

The color change is almost nonexistent, as the mug appears to be 'microwave damaged,' however it's a great addition to my collection.

Marvel's Hero / Evil Mugs

Not too long ago, I posted this mug on the WANT page. (See above.) My lovely wife surprised me on our anniversary with one of the two mugs, the EVIL mug.  It is a 3 sided design wit the word EVIL in black letters.  When hot liquid is added the letters clear to reveal villains from the Marvel Universe. Each letter features its own villain, with the E containing Whiplash, the V displaying Red Skull, Loki being within the I, and Abomination within the L. These characters are each shown in their traditional comic book form.

Being brand spanking new, in it's original box, the color change is spectacular!  Oh and anyone wanting to buy and send me the HERO mug just email me for the address!

Hytrin Medication

This week's mug comes from Hytrin Prescription Medication.  On the right side of the mug is the logo of the drug, HYTR1N (with a '1' replacing the letter I) above which is the sizes the pills are available: "2 mg, 1 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg Tablets" Below the logo is the medical name "terazosin hci" along with the phrase "Once-a-Day" over "One Price." 

On the left side of the mug is a large mauve colored square with the phrase "Expect more from your antihypertensive therapy" in red.

When hot liquid is added, the square clears to reveal the Hytr1n Logo again, in white.  Color change is good, and very nicely designed.

Efferdent Denture Cleanser

This week's mug is from Efferdent. The left side of the mug has "America's Favorite"above a drawing of a box with the name "extra strength efferdent denture cleanser' in all lower case letters. At the bottom is a dark rectangle.

When hot liquid is added, the dark rectangle clears to show "THANK YOU FOR HELPING US ACHIEVE A 50% SHARE" in small caps. Almost a perfect color change, too.

Very little can be found on this mug but it appears that the mug was a corporate 'award' to employees at a time when the product achieved its 50% market share.
