Yoyo and Hoops

This week's mug is from Hallmark, the card company, and features two characters known as Yoyo and Hoops. The two were first introduced in 2003 and have been featured on just about everything that Hallmark sells. Hoops is the pink cat and Yoyo is the green dog. The left side of the mug has the two characters standing amid a bunch of dark spots holding coffee and smoking cigarettes. Above them is the phrase. "aaaaahh"
When hot liquids are added, the dark spots reveal bubbles, stars and the phrase "liquid heaven."  I love this mug as it is new to the collection and was found in the thrift store by the lovely Mrs.  The mug is in great condition and color change is quick and complete.

Wyatt Technology Corp.

This mug is from Wyatt Technology Corporation.  On the left side of the mug is a dark rectangle.  Above the rectangle is the Wyatt Technology Identifier.  Below that is the name DAWN®  and the phrase "The finest, most versatile light scattering instruments."
On the right side of the mug, is another, larger rectangle.  Above it is a graph with the caption "GPC/SEC Chromatogram"
When hot liquid is added to the mug, the rectangle on the left side clears to show the words "Absolute molecular weights, sizes and conformations without assumptions or column calibrations!"
The rectangle on the right side also clears to reveal another graph with Ziman Plot at the bottom.  (I have no idea what this means, but it's a cool mug!)

The mug is near new, with a fantastic color change. I expect it may rarely have actually been used.

CSOP

This week's mug has no history, or anything on the mug which helps me to identify who or what it is from. The design covers a full half of the mug (most designs cover only about 1/3 of a mug.) At the upper left is a set of letters like corporate initials: CSOP.  Beside it, is a string of letters which may be corporate divisions (again no history on this.) "BSOC - CBC - DSOC - DAC/FAC - RAC" Below this is a long dark ribbon, outlined in blue.

When hot liquid is added to the cup, the ribbon clears to reveal the phrase "TOMORROW'S SERVICE OPERATIONS TODAY."  This may give us an idea that the mug was part of the operations of a corporate structure.

The mug is in great condition, and the color change is good.  If anyone has any history to this, please email me direct.

Idea Man Inc

This magic mug is from a company named "Idea Man."  On the right side of the mug is the advertising of
Specialty Advertising
Executive Gifts
Incentive Programs
Premiums
in plain black letters.

On the left side of the mug is a dark square with the question "Who is the creative leader in specialty advertising?  Below the dark area is the company's phone number*.
When hot liquid is added, the dark area clears to reveal a man's profile against a dark background. In the upper left corner of the man's profile is the company name "Idea Man Inc."

This is a very nice mug and in good condition. The thermochromatic ink does not change as good as it once did but does change.  It is from a company which sold such mugs for advertising purposes.

Solution to Pollution

This mug is one of those mysterious mugs with no ascertainable history.  On the left side of the mug is a cartoon man driving a car with a hot cup of what I assume is coffee in his  left hand.  Below the drawing is "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the pollution."  Behind the man is dark.
When hot liquid is added, the dark area clears to reveal two more people in the car.  One is eating a donut (or perhaps just admiring it) and the other is holding up a spoon.  (Yes, I admit it's strange, but the mug still fascinates me.)  The mug appears to be an advertisement for carpooling, or perhaps breakfast with friends.

The color change is good, and the colors are vibrant and alive with purpose.  I only wish I knew the history of this mug. Anyone with knowledge of this, please email me.

B&B Benedictine & Brandy

This week's mug is from B&B Liqueur.  On the left side of the mug is the name "B&B Liqueur" below a dark oval.
On the right side of the mug is the logo for the company showing its 50th year anniversary in 1987. B&B Liqueur is a combination of Brandy and Benedictine Liqueur  (a liqueur made from 27 different plants and spices.)

When hot liquid is added, the dark spot on the left side of the mug clears to show the phrase "share the warmth," relating to the fact that B&B can be enjoyed cold or hot.

This mug is in great shape and the color change is very good.  I've not been able to find how the mug was distributed, but it appears to be part of some advertising promotion.

Share the Magic - Sysco

This week's mug features a mug from Sysco, a restaurant supplier. On the left side of the mug there is a drawing of a magician with the words "CATCH THE MAGIC" above a large top hat.
When hot liquid is added to the mug, the top hat clears to reveal the Sysco Company logo.  The mug is from a marketing campaign promoting the Sysco company.  These were free incentives to new customers.
