Murder / Nightmare Mug

This weeks' mug is a new addition to the collection via an awesome gift.  Very subtle, the mug appears totally black (with a white center) until hot liquid is added. 

Then this creepy-cool scene is revealed in full nightmarish color!  A figure of some sort with bloody hands pressed against a glass partition (?) window (?) - maybe he's just trying to get out of the mug!  A terrific addition to the collection!

The design is wonderful, beautifully completed and didn't really come with a title, so I went with my own. This mug is also cool in that it is part of a growing group of magic mugs which not only use a new thermochromic ink; unlike inks of the 80's and 90's, it covers the whole mug.  Not only that, but as you can see above, the ink on the handle also turns clear as it warms up!  (Might even show finger prints to accompany the gruesome image!)

Van Kampen American Capital

This week's mug comes from Van Kampen American Capital, a part of Morgan Stanley in 1996.  The mug features a large dark area on which can be seen the phrase "There's a new name on everyone's lips."

When hot liquid is added, the dark area clears to reveal the name 'Van Kampen American Capital" and the captions "A Wealth of Knowledge - A Knowledge of Wealth - Van Kampen American Capital."

Founded in 1974, Van Kampen was a record breaker and trendsetter in the mutual fund arena. It was sold to Xerox in 1984 for $200 million, who then sold it to Morgan Stanley in 1996 for $745 million.  It was at this point it was merged with Morgan Stanley's 'American Capital' and the mug was introduced to celebrate that merger.  (Morgan Stanley later sold the company to Invesco for 1.5 billion.)

The mug is pristine and the color change is perfect.

HOUSECALL MEDICAL RESOURCES

This week's mug comes from Housecall Medical Resources, Inc. On the right side of the mug of the company's logo.

On the left side of the mug is a large dark area with the company's logo at the bottom with lines above to suggest a sunrise.

When hot liquid is added the large dark area clears to reveal a bright sun on an orange background and the phrase: "A New Name in Healthcare is on the horizon..."

SEIMENS PRODUCTION PLUS

This week's mug is from Seimens corporation and is for their 'Production Plus System.'  On the right side of the mug you can see the Seimen's logo and the "Production Plus System' title.

On the left side of the mug is a tow truck inside of a large maze, at the end of which is a drawing of a truck's drive train.

When hot liquid is added, the entire truck and maze disappear leaving the driver of the truck sitting at a desk and the maze is replaced by a double sided arrow, showing a shorter distance between office and production.  

This is a great mug, in terrific condition. Color change is quick and near complete!
