Watch out for the ZOMBIES!

February is when the 2nd half of the Walking Dead came back.  At the same time, it's also my birthday month.  To Celebrate, my lovely wife gave me this incredible Magic Mug. 

The mug is two sided, with each image stretching completely to meet at the side.  Both images are identical, showing a man in a suit, running through a dark cityscape.  

Add Hot Liquid:

Once hot liquid is added, the dark background clears to reveal a horde of Zombies in shambling pursuit!
The color change is quick and complete and the effect is great!

Also cool when I receive a new mug is the fact that it comes with its own special box in full color!

This mug will take a place of honor in the collection.

Disney's Genii from Aladdin 1992

In the fall of 1992, Disney introduced the movie Aladdin. One of the promotions they gave away to theater owners was this magic mug.  On one side is the Aladdin logo, underneath it is 'Holiday Season 1992."

On the other side is a large dark cloud eminating from the magic lamp.  Also, there is the logo for both Disney, and Aladdin (below both is the copyright  (c) Disney.).  

When hot liquid is added, the dark cloud clears to reveal the Genii in all his glory.  The color change is great and quick, and the colors bright.  A great piece in my collection.

Wondermugs English Countryside

This mug is a newcomer to the collection. I just picked it up this last week at a local thrift shop.  It is by Wondermugs, a company known for making Magic Mugs.  High Quality and some great images.  

This mug features a full 3 sided wrap around design of an English Country lane, sided by a low rock wall.  In the field stands a typical English Country house.  The scene is at night, the sky dark with stars showing.  

When hot liquid is added, The sky turns clear, showing a magnificent rainbow which stretches almost end to end.  It's a great mug, with a beautiful design. The artists name is on the side: Eric Mohn, along with the Copyright: Wondermugs - USA.

Zithromax Prescription Medicine

This is one of a typical group of magic mugs, those given to Doctors' offices to advertise prescription medicines.  This mug is for Zithromax. (Zithromax is a prescription medicine for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria, such as respiratory infections such as chronic bronchitis.) 

This 3 sided design has the Zithromax logo on one side with a drawing of a pair of lungs on the other.  Above the lungs is a dark rounded rectangle and below is the phase "Chronic Bronchitis." 

When hot liquid is added, The dark area clears to show the treatment regimen using pills and a chart. The lungs, previously shown inflamed with infection are now shown with the infection gone.  Even the words "Chronic Bronchitis" are faded.

The color change is not as good as others in my collection, but it does happen enough to see the change.

Fern Silver And Associates

This mug is from a company called Fern Silver & Associates.  From what I can glean off the internet, Fern Silver is a company that deals with advertising or at least it did when this mug was designed.

The design shows a rainbow on a dark square above two 'critters' (that's the best I can describe them.)

When hot liquid is added, the dark square clears to show more 'bugs', butterflies and flowers.  The color change is good and the mug is in great shape.

Disney's Snow White & The Evil Queen

This week's mug is from the Disney Corporation.  It is a full three sided mug, with color change on the edge opposite the handle, shown above. It is the magic mirror used by the Evil Queen.

To the left of this space are two of the seven dwarfs: Dopey and Doc. To the right is the Evil Queen

When the mug is hot, the mirror clears to show Snow White, in answer to the Evil Queen's question, "Who is the fairest in the land?"  

This is a bright and clean mug, with great graphics as only Disney can provide.  It also leads me to suspect that there are other mugs in this series, perhaps from other Disney Movies.  If anyone has a lead on these, please email me direct.

TRACOM Corporation

My love of magic mugs causes me to collect even those that have been damaged to such a degree that the Magic Ink is no longer usable.  In cases like this, the ink becomes a dull beige showing neither the original color nor changing when hot. This is one of those mugs.

This mug is from the Tracom Corporation, A Reed Publishing USA Company as shown on one side of the mug, beside which is their corporate logo. (Address blurred on purpose.)

On the reverse is a diagram with the title Social Style - Profile.  The diagram shows different attributes of the profile.  These are 'controls,' 'asks,' 'tells,' and 'emotes.'  In the lower right corner is a square which (if the design and knowledge of Magic Ink tells us anything) would have been the same blue as the other squares. When hot liquid is added, the square would have cleared revealing the word "Expressive."
