Birthday Balloons!

This week's mug is another retail purchase mug.  On the left side of the mug, and covering most of the left side, is a dark blue design with yellow stars and moon.

When hot liquid is added, the entire design clears to reveal colorful hot-air balloons in flight with one carrying a banner which reads "Happy Birthday."

Also a plus is that this mug comes with the original purchase box!  From a company "Color Magic" it's guessable that this is one of a series, but is the only one currently in my collection.

You're The Greatest

This week's mug is a retail purchase mug.  On the left side of the mug are the words "You're the greatest" above a black silhouette of a piece of film.

On the right side of the mug is a field of small, metallic, gold stars.

When hot liquid is added to the mug, the center of the film frame clears to reveal a couple in an embrace with the word "Lover!" to complete the phrase.

Also a plus to this piece is that the mug comes with its own box, showing graphically the picture change. These mugs were produced under the name 'Double Talk Mugs" and are dated 1986. It can be guessed that there were several in the line, though currently, this is the only one in my collection.

F-117A Stealth Fighter

This week's mug is from the US Military's 37th Tactical Fighter Wing who's emblem can be seen on the right side of the mug. The emblem features an eagle in flight throwing lightning bolts in the center and the name across the bottom.

On the left side of the mug is a stylized drawing of the F-117A Stealth Fighter, with the title above it and "The U.S. Air Force's Best Kept SECRET" across the bottom.

When hot liquid is added, the eagle and lightning bolts turn clear in the emblem.  AND -

The F-117A Fighter turns clear to show the word "CLASSIFIED" in the style of a red rubber stamp.  The color change is not enough to totally clear the plane from view, but the mug is in great shape, and the effect is also good.

Raid OFF! by SC Johnson Wax

This week's mug is from a well known company "Raid OFF!"  a bug repellent from the company known for pest eradication.  On the right side of the mug is the RAID logo along with the OFF! logo in orange.

On the left is a drawing of a can of RAID with both the RAID Logo and the corporate logo for the parent company  SC Johnson Wax. The can is shown spraying a cartoon bug.  When hot liquid is added, the bug disappears, re-enforcing the idea behind both RAID Bug Killer and Raid OFF! bug repellent. This is another of those mugs which has a lot of microwave or UV Damage and the color change no longer works, but it is a nice addition to the collection.

FCS - Ryder System, Inc.

This week's mug is from FCS Card Services, a service of Ryder System. There is little to find on this company which seems to have provided financial services to truckers and trucking companies.  On the right of the mug is the corporate logo along with names/logos of several of their service companies.

On the left side of the mug is a drawing of an 18 wheeler, beneath a cloudy sky; the side of the trailer is also dark. Beneath the drawing is the phrase "We make your over the road problems disappear."

When hot liquid is added the cloud and trailer both clear to reveal the FCS logo, though this mug is microwave damaged to such a degree that the color change no longer works.
A nice cup, most likely given to truckers or employees of the company.

CISCO SYSTEMS

This week's mug is from Cisco Systems. Cisco Systems is a company specializing in computer networking equipment. The mug shows the Cisco Logo and the name "Cisco Systems" placed sideways on both sides of the mug, and a large dark 'cloud' which stretches from one side to the other in a wrap around design.
When hot liquid is added:

The large dark cloud shape clears to reveal a diagram of a computer network and all the Cisco Solutions equipment that help do this.
This mug was probably given to prospective or high end clients to remind them of the ways in which the systems can be used to help with network problems.  The mug is in excellent condition and the color change is good, though not perfect.

Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics Mascot

This week's mug comes from the Atlanta Summer Olympics in 1996.  It features the Atlanta 1996 mascot, Izzy, whose real name is Whatizit (What Is It?) on both sides of the mug, on a purple background beneath a dark band. The dark band and purple background are a full wrap around design.
When hot liquid is added, the dark band at the top of the design clears to show a design of stars on a light tan background.
This mug is a fun design, mos likely sold in souvenir shops at the Atlanta Olympics.  The mug is in great shape, and the color change is quick and complete.
